Imperial stout aged in Barbados rum barrels with @metriccoffee and dulce de leche.
A new player enters the ring this year. Fans find Carmelita Suave’s sleek image appealing. From the looks of her, you’d never know she’s an imperial stout that came up through the underground barrel rings of Barbados rum. Don’t let her charming single-origin Veracruz coffee and silky dulce de leche fool you – she packs some heat and strikes quick.

500 ml bottle into a snifter. A 2021 release. Had 6/17/22.
Pours near black and opaque with no head and speckled oily cling. Aromas of roasted malt, caramel, coffee, light rum, some oak and char. Flavors of coffee, rum, roasted malt, some caramel and oak, a bit of a spicy taste. Smooth, a solid full body, appropriately carbonated.
The coffee is both delicious and dominant, the rum barrels are restrained and there’s a number of supporting aromas and flavors. Well done.
