Imperial Saskatoon Ale
BARREL: French black currant liquor barrels
Lucha Royal is a true rookie shining with elegance and sophistication. Her pedigree comes from a long line of fruit-forward luchador crowd-pleasers. Aged in French black currant liquor barrels with saskatoon berries, resulting in a captivatingly shrewd showing of delicate bramble berry preserves.

12 ounce can into a snifter. Canned 10/2/23, had 4/6/24.
Pours a slightly purplish amber color, cloudy, with a quarter inch foamy head and some speckled cling. Aromas of berries- like blackberries, malt, oak, some currant liqueur barrel, light caramel. Flavors of berries- again, like blackberries, caramel, malt, some currant liqueur barrel, some oak, light vanilla as it warms. It’s a little tart, with a little bit of a sweet note. Smooth, a very good medium body, appropriately carbonated.
Liked this a lot, has a great flavor. The currant barrels and the Saskatoon berries pretty much dominate and there’s not much more to this, but it was still very enjoyable.
