Taking their barleywine and aging it in rum barrels and spicing it, Tustin Brewing has developed an excellent cold weather beer. On-tap at the brewery, on to the beer:

This ale is dark brown colored with a ruby hue, topped with a few whisps of lacing. I smell spiced rum, wood, and toffee, smelling almost as much as a good rum as it does a wood aged beer. In fact, Tustin Brewing may have just developed the first "rum beer", blending the two characteristics of each beverage together in a way that makes me want to toot about it. Not only is this mellow and extremely smooth, the flavors of spiced rum, raisins, cinnamon, and a light toastiness, covering up the huge alcohol content and making Rum to the Hills a stellar beverage.
