On tap at Tustin Brewing.
A: Hazy yellow gold with a big foamy head. Retention is excellent.
S: Aromatic orange and tangerine with a little grapefruit. Alcohol is evident in the aroma, but it's not inappropriate. Perfumy floral notes accompany pine. Malt is bread with sugary caramel.
T: Candied grapefruit and a prodigious resinous pine profile with floral notes. Orange is evident, and the beer has an upper moderate level of bitterness. I'm not sure on the ABV of this beer, but there's a lot of booze in the flavor. Malt is bread and caramel with a lot of sweetness. The combination of bitterness, sweetness, and alcohol makes for an unpleasant flavor profile. Alcohol is harsh in the finish.
M: Medium in body with upper moderate carbonation.
Overall: This smelled pretty good, but the flavor had qualities that I very much dislike in many high ABV Double IPAs. Far too sweet and alcoholic to be enjoyable.

A: The beer pours a clear amber color with a finger of white head and a bit of lacing.
S: Smells a touch sweet with a good amount of caramel and sugar. Good hop notes of grapefruit and tangerine with a fair amount of tropical fruits, giving it a little extra sweetness. A light grass and perhaps a hint of pine.
T: The flavor is fairly well balanced between the sweetness and bitterness. Good pine flavor and bitterness as well as some oily citrus peel. A definite booze flavor, light chalk, and heavy bitterness as it warms up. Good citrus bite on the back end.
M: A little bit heavy on the tongue with a medium carbonation.
O: Rough around the edges and a bit too hot.
