served on draught at trinity brewhouse, providence.
not much head there. nice amber color with slight orangish look. smell is bigtime on the alcohol right off the bat.
the first sip off my pint just hit my taste buds hard with alcohol. that receded though as i drink more. the fruity esters and nice carmel-sweetness came through. yeast taste reminds me of another belgian-inspired offering from this brewpub.
mouthfeel is okay, maybe a little bit too carbonated.
drinkability suffers, though. take it super super easy with this one. the alcohol creeps up on you when you're not looking. (waitress told me the ABV was 13% and i definitely believe her.)
not a bad strong belgian ale, but not extremely great, either.
