On-tap 7/13/2014 at the brewpub in Providence, RI served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a dark brown color, with a large dense off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains coffee, roasted malts, some chocolate and a faint touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out with some flavors of coffee and dark fruit. Then a thin malt character for the style comes in. The hops presence is very mild and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and smooth but a bit watery, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry and slightly sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, it’s a decent beer to drink for a while.
