Small beige head that leaves blankets of lace on the glass. Deep dark brown where light shall not pass.
Here's an interesting first impression--I smelled green olives. Okay, the strongest aroma is dark (just shy of burnt) toast. No coffee, which surprises me.
The taste mimics the smell--no burnt aspects and no coffee. The brew is tasty but not quite an Irish stout. The body is solid for the style. Short dark malt aftertaste that lingers.

A: Deep, dark brown; almost black. Poured almost a 2 finger tan head with good retention. Laced in sheets.
S: Hearty chocolate and bitter coffee malts. Straighforward, just what you expect.
T: Chocolate flavor is most prominent; other toasted male flavors well in the background. Light, building bitter attempts to balance the finish.
M: Medium to full body. Low carbonation. Smooth and dry.
D: Flavorful and much of what is expected for the style. Just thought the chocolate flavor was a little one-dimensional.

On tap this past weekend at Trinity. Must be a left over from a St. Patty's Day batch. Served in a standard pint glass. Dark brown color. Thin white head, but was oddly very bubbly for a stout. Smell had a hint of chocolate. Taste was fairly good. Some roasted malt backbone and some coffee notes. Mouthfeel was a bit on the watery side for a stout. Would have preferred a bit more body. Drinkability was good enough, seeing it was on the thin side and extremely low in abv. Not a show stopping stout, but a decent middle of the afternoon beer.

Poured into standard american pint glass.
Poured a darkbrown/black with some purplish hues. Almost not head whatsoever that quickly dissipated.
Toasty malt flavor as well as a big scent of chocolate.
Very light bodied, but enjoyable. THe malt is clearly dominant with flavors of yeasty bread and chocolate.
A decent irish stout. Very easy drinking and extremely sessionable. Not going to knock ur socks off with its complexity, but still a decent all around beer.
