Here's a very rich, sweet, malty beer. My friend and I were treated to the inaugural offering on 4/30/05. It poured a neutral amber color, and expectedly cloudy. There was no head and thus, no lace.
The smell was sweet/malty. The usual high alcohol essence was absent from the aroma. Not true for the flavor where the alcohol presence was noteable. Sweet malt made it very full bodied. I particularly liked the spicy hop finish.
This is not a quaffing beer, per se, but it held its own in the tasting. I felt it was lighter than most tripels but still very flavorful.
