On-tap 1/28/2017 at the brewpub in Providence, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a deep golden brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains caramelized rye malts, some hops, some fruit and some spice.
T: The taste starts out bready with a hearty rye malt character up front. Then some mild sweetness comes in from flavors of caramel and citrus. The hops presence is mild for the style but brings a decent balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.
M: A little crisp and a little smooth but a bit watery, medium body, light-to-medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a decent beer to drink for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.
