On-tap 1/11/07 at Trinity Brewhouse in Providence, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a cloudy orange-brown color, with a dense foamy off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is of yeast, hops, caramelized malt and some spice & fruit.
T: The taste is very yeasty & hoppy at first. Flavors of apricot, banana, raisin and clove spice follow. There’s a mild malt character. The after-taste is a combination of hops bitterness and fruity malt sweetness.
M: Smooth & crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is a little sticky.
D: Tasty, goes down pretty easily, slightly filling, ABV (which is listed as between 9 and 10%) hits quickly, good representation of the style. After their RI IPA, I’d go for this beer next.
