On-tap 1/11/07 at Trinity Brewhouse in Providence, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a light brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades very quickly and leaves very little lace on the glass.
S: The aroma is of caramelized malt, hops and clove spice. However, it’s faint overall.
T: The taste loaded with clove spice. There’s a hearty malt base complimented by a mild hops character and touches of caramel & dark fruit.
M: Smooth & crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
D: Tasty, but the excessive clove spice turned me off, goes down easy enough though, however I found it to be a little bit filling. This wouldn’t be a beer that I’d want to stick with, especially in a place that routinely has such better alternatives.
