On-tap 2/7/2011 at the brewpub in Providence, RI, served in a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light brown color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains honey, lager yeast, caramelized malts, some fruit and some hops.

T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel and honey. Then some breadiness comes in from the lager yeast and a hearty malt character. The hops presence is mild but brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Smooth and crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

D: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a good beer to drink for a while if you're in the mood for the style.

On tap from the brewery.

A- Hazy copper, slightly transparent with a nice white head that recedes quickly.

S- Sweet malt with grassy tones and bits of spice. Hops follow.

T- Clean and earthy with malt back bone. Bitter with a hint of spice.

M- Clean with a medium body and crisp feel. Carbonation is nice with a semi-dry finish.

D- Very drinkable. Slightly bitter. A bit boring.

I sampled this brew with a late lunch. Poured in a pint glass a slightly hazy copper with several streams of carbonation rising to the surface forming a bleached white head that fades to a few islands eventually. Aroma is grainy and sweet clean malt with some grassy and spicy hops mixing. First sip reveals an average body with very fine and prickly carbonation. Flavor is clean and grainy with just a bit of sweet malt then the beer moves to the hops. Spicy and grassy notes take over with just a hint of general bitter astringency. Burps reveal the hops in greater depth and robustness. ABV is hidden. A nice clean drinker to partner with my pulled pork sandwich.
