On draft at Trinity.
This was the cask selection, so it was pumped old-style into a snifter. The color was a hazy copper color with a thin white head. Lacing was good.
Smell was bourbon, oak and some grassy hops.
Flavor was a nice balance of caramel and citrus with definite bourbon/oak overtones. Mild bitter finish - just enough to make you want another drink
Medium/full bodied with light carbonation.
Overall, I was glad I was able to try this, it is a tasty beer. A little on the sweet, malty side for my personal tastes, but a well made beer nonetheless.

This beer poured out as a clear looking golden copper color. The head was pretty good at first and settled into just a think white film over the beer. The smell of this beer was really nice, Lots of hoppy aromas and some vanilla perhaps? The taste of the beer has a pretty good amount of hoppy flavors. The beer is a little on the sweet side too, not what I was really expecting from a IIPA. The mouthfeel was good, had a nice medium oily body, very easy to drink. Overall this beer was good, not sure if i'll ever come across it again but if I do I'll give it another try.

Beer on draft, served in a wine glass. Beer is amber with a wispy white head of nothingness and some lacing on the glass. Interesting. Low carbonation.
Aroma is really strong with bourbon and malt, smells good!
Beer is sweet and only moderately hoppy and bitter. There is some late bitterness but it is mild and has some oak in there as well. The liquor character comes through well in this one, rounding the whole beer out nicely. I like it overall. An interesting one and not a bad barrel-aged IPA.

On tap at SAVOR 2011. Served in a goblet.
Pours a nice copper color with a small, off-white head and some average lacing on the way down. Spotty with a thin collar. The nose carries a good amount of bourbon and oak. Light tannin and wood. Not much hop character. The flavor is all bourbon and oak with a bit of vanillin. Not bad, but the hop character is pretty much gone, other than the bitterness in the finish. Medium body and a bit of sweetness with light carbonation. Interesting concept; fairly well executed.

A: The beer is hazy amber orange in color and poured with a thin layer of off white bubbles covering the surface that left some lacing.
S: There are moderately strong aromas of grapefruit in the nose.
T: Quite similar to the smell, the taste has flavors of citrus and pine resin from the hops and some hints of caramel malts. A moderate amount of bitterness is present, which particularly stands out in the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation and has some warming from the alcohol and dryness in the finish.
O: The beer is rather easy to drink for the style because the taste is well balanced and doesn’t have an overpowering amount of bitterness. The alcohol is well masked from the taste.

Got this from the Trinity Brewhouse after hearing good things about it. Let's give it a go...
A: Pours a murky copper color with a tiny white head that fades quickly to a small lace on the sides of the beer. Decent.
S: Smells of a nice blend of sweet citrus and bitter hop upfront. Some mild hints of tropical fruits in the middle. So well blended it's hard to pick out all of the scents. Good.
T: Has a nice earthy hop with a nice breadiness balancing it out. A nice citrus in the middle with a booze burn on the back. This is a hop bomb balances out with some bready malt and a booze backbone. Good.
M: Full body with a fantastic carbonation! A very dry finish. Very good.
D: Goes down good. A little booze burn, but good.
All in all, this is a great DIPA to try if you have access. A little boozy and very dry, but super tasty! Glad I got to try and a growler of it will be happily enjoyed.

Poured from a growler...thanks Sean for your generosity!!!
Pours hazy bright orange color with a small tan head that remains as a blanket layer. Smell is certainly has some grapefruit and pine. Nice honey/malt backbone.
The taste is well integrated. All of the above comes through in the flavor ending with a long dry slightly bitter aftertaste which turns slightly sweet at the very end. Pretty tasty. A little alcohol comes through at the end as well but at 9.5% I'd expect that.
The mouthfeel is smooth and silky. Mild/medium carbonation. Really a nice beer and dangerously drinkable.

A: Deep amber color. Poured a 1 finger off-white head that dissipated to a thick skim. :Laced in thick rings.
S: Citrus, pine and grapefruit along with grassy hops. Big, bready malt and crystal malt aromas.
T: Sweet, bready malt and caramel malt. Citrus and resiny pine linger along with light sweetness to bitter finish. Alcohol, but muted relative to ABV.
M: Medium body. Moderate carbonatoin. Smooth in the middle to a resiny bitter finish.
D: Big malts and big hops. Disguises the ABV pretty well. Flavorful drink for sure.
