Served on tap at the Trinity Brewhouse.
Appearance: Beer comes off a semi-hazy amber with medium bubbles on the body, head is white maybe 2/3" off the body.
Smell: smells like the way it sounds, maybe a little lighter than my favorite pumpkins but definitely worth taking more than a few sniffs.
Taste: Liquid dessert, medium malts that offset the sweetness delivered of the brew. You seriously take a sip and start indulging.
Mouth: Medium and absolutely sticking. A slight chewy with a hard spicy finish at the end. Not like a chili spicy more like a nutmeg finish...hmmm.
Overall: An absolutely tasty delight. Feels like drinking pumpkin pie in a glass, yes had a little bitterness to

Served into a pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: 1/4 inch head, brownish-orange in color, clear, moderate carbonation
Smell: earth, toasted malt, and subtle pumpkin spice
Taste: roasted malt, English pale malt, big time raisins and pumpkin spice that come in the middle and last till the end
Mouthfeel: sweet with underlying bitterness, moderate carbonation, medium-heavy bodied, dry
Overall: I appreciate what Trinity is trying to do here with a slightly different take on the imperial pumpkin. This one is more dry and focuses on the subtle pumpkin flavors. The addition of raisin is wonderful. That said, I like sweet and overpowering pumpkin taste in my imperial pumpkins. I do think they did an excellent job with not making the alcohol overbearing as well. Not a bad beer by any means, just not to my personal preference in the style. Worth trying.
