On-tap 11/20/2012 at the brewpub, served in a US tumbler pint glass.
A: The beer is a dark reddish brown color, with a large dense off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains dark fruit, brown sugar, caramelized malts, lager yeast and some hops.
T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel, brown sugar and dark fruit. Then a hearty malt character and lager yeast breadiness comes in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is sticky.
O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, strong kick, good representation of style, this is a solid stronger lager worth drinking for a while if you’re in the mood for the style.

Had on tap at the brewery
Appearance: minimal head, moderate carbonation, gold in color, clear
Smell: toasted malt and apple cider
Taste: toasted malt, apple cider, honey, and Belgian spices
Mouthfeel: medium body, sweet, moderate carbonation
Overall: Drinks like a cross between a dopplebock and a tripel with perhaps the tripel side getting a bit more weight. One per sitting but certainly an innovative brew I would have again.

This beer pours yellow/brown/tan body with a nice thick white head.
Nose you can smell from a mile away. Very fruity and malty. Really runs a fine line between yeaty Belgian triple(but without the triple smells) and a German doppelbock. (I believe this is beer is actually an ale).
Taste is sublime. Full bodied, thick and immediatly hits you with a wave of rich ripe fruity malt. Oh my god this is good. It's not quite a triple, since it doesn't have that yeasty belgian flavor, but it's not quite a doppel bock. Honestly, the best way to describe the flavor is sort of a Golden doppelbock. Malt, malt and more malt, but not with a strong caramel or burnt flavor. More in line with the big belgians, but without all those belgian flavors. Closer to an American or English barleywine, but without the big hops or caramel maltiness. A very unique flavor. Hops are almost non existant in this beer and only give enough bitterness to offer balance. Fruit is what this beer is all about. Rich, ripe and VERY BRIGHT fruit. Ends with a lovely bright fruit finish.
Wow! This is the kind of beer that keeps me coming back to Trinity. The last triple bock I had (cough, cough sam adams), tasted like soy sauce, THIS tastes like heaven in a glass mixed with a bit of awesome. This is how triple bocks should taste. A stellar beer.
