Brewed for our friends and neighbors, Neighborbräu is an unfiltered Pilsner meant for straightforward enjoyment. Crisp yet soft maltiness alongside notes of fresh-cut hay and a gentle floral ending thanks to Spalt hops.

very nicely done beer here. my homie called it boring, but i respectfully disagree, i think its artfully done, i like the hop profile on it, subtle as it is, and the lagering here is patient and professional, another solid beer from these guys, we truthfully liked everything we drank in here. this is remarkably clear for something unfiltered, as it claims to be, i expected more of a keller pils vibe to this, but its see through and beautiful, bright and glowing in the glass. a softness to it is noticeable, less sharp minerality or immediately crisp than i know in the style, but i like it, lets some of the biscuity crackery malt manifest a little longer, a little more pervasively, and its still snappy and refreshing, drinkable as they come, unique on the hops too, noble but different, not saaz or hallertau, not sure what, grassy like alfalfa and hay and green tea, not overdone but very distinctive here for sure. classic old world lager character here too, rustic even, really well refined beer overall and something i could drink like crazy. i know the more interesting stuff on the menu is what gets the juices flowing, but i though this was killer and would take it over countless other beers in this style...

A: Pours a very slightly hazy medium yellow in color with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate medium golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall sudsy foamy bright white head that reduces to a medium sized patch of thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Just shy of moderate aromas of bready + cereal grain + honey malts with a very light amount of honey sweetness. Light aromas of floral + grassy hops.

T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of bready + cereal grain + honey malts with a very light amount of honey sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of floral + grassy hops which impart a light amount of lingering bitterness.

M: Light to medium bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of fine carbonation. Slightly crisp upfront with a relatively clean finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and definitely enjoyable and refreshing. I could easily have a couple of these.

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head consisting of medium-sized bubbles on the surface. The head died down, leaving only streaks of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of grainy malts and a touch of honey are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional hints of floral and grassy hops with a light amount of associated bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has nice aromas and flavors of malts but doesn't seem to be as hoppy as other German Pilsener.

As they say upfront. I get it. It’s unfiltered. Are they trying to prove a point? Call it something else. Why disregard the definition. I I make better Pilsner at home.

Had it on tap at New York City’s newest brewery and taproom, Fifth Hammer.
Pours a clear straw color with a silky film like head and soft lacing. Good retention overall.
Clean aroma overall with a slight pilsner malt sweetness. Later on, there is a modest aroma of floral hops.
In the mouth it is crisp, clean and with a floral hops finish. A soft malt texture is ornamented with a slightly lemony feel.
Medium to light bodied, good balance between malts and slightly Hop forward for a lager. Very drinkable, refreshing and finely crafted.
