Pours a clear straw golden color, visible carbonation, and a moderate bubbly head that dissipates into a layer of lathery film.
Aromas of sweet cereal grain, bread, floral hops, a touch of grapefruit and peach.
First impressions are of a clean malt taste which develops into a muted sweetness that is just right. The firm toasted and bready malt backbone dominates, yet is finely balanced by a lovely and gentle hops spice in the middle palate. A clean bitterness develops throughout, the hops interacting nicely with the malt. The hops yield flavors of grapefruit, and evoke sensations of soft pine and fresh cut flowers. The finish emphasizes the hops by ways of a grassy, piny, bitter and moderate dryness.
Medium bodied and gently carbonated. The clean and balanced flavors produce an ultra smooth beer that is easy to quaff.
I’m a big supporter of Fifth Hammer and this is truly one of their top efforts. I feel like this hit all the right notes for the style. Truly delicious.
