On tap at Fifth Hammer. My first try at the style.
Pours a beautifully clear golden color with a placid looking moussy thumb length head. The head displays great retention and yields lacing. Classy and elegant looking brew!
Aroma yields a cornucopia of citrus and tropical fruit, including, grapefruit, tangerine, orange, pineapple and guava. I’m also picking up melon and berries. There is also a hint of grass and mint towards the end.
The palate opens up sweetly, with juicy and fruity hops flavors set against a dry and light malt backbone. Flavors of grapefruit rind, strawberries, and watermelon. Little to no bitterness, instead, the hops provide a spicy flavoring that evoke pine needles and grass, adding a wonderful and masterful balance.
Medium to light bodied with a dry finish. It has an effervescent and champagne like carbonation. Silky and smooth in the mouthfeel. Utterly sublime!
I don’t know much about the style, however, I can say with confidence that this was a delicious masterpiece.
