This New York State pale ale is brewed with a generous addition of NY State grown malt and hops (Cascade & Northern Brewer) and English Crystal Rye for a light caramel spiciness to dance with floral hoppy fun and a full base. Add a bit of West Coast Centennial and it is a perfect beer for that space where Fall meets Winter.

On tap at Fifth Hammer, NYC.
Pours an amber brown color, mostly clear with some haze. A moderate head retains well with gentle cascades of lacing.
Aroma highlights caramel and toffee and floral hops. There are also aromas of toasted malt and notes of fruit.
The taste showcases rich toasty malts, with notes of caramel/toffee and fruit. Nice hops to malt balance as the hops provide a moderate and clean bitterness and floral and spicy flavors. Notes of rye add a pleasant spice as well.
Medium bodied with a moderate carbonation that is right on par. Nice crispness aids drinkability.
Mellow, flavorful and easy drinking. Solid 4s across the board.

A: Pours an almost opaque yet still clear dark mahogany in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation and moderate amounts of garnet red + chestnut brown colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy off-white head that reduces to a medium sized patch of thin film covering a little more than 50% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Just shy of moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Just shy of moderate aromas of dark + caramel + toasted + slightly spicy rye malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. Light aromas of earthy hops.

T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of dark + caramel + toasted + slightly spicy rye malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of earthy + spicy hops which contribute a light amount of lingering bitterness.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Enjoyable with a flavor and aroma profile that reminded me appropriately of fall. Nice complexity of malt flavors/aromas present.

On-tap at Fifth Hammer Brewing, Long Island City, NY

A: The beer is very clear but dark brownish red in color. It poured with a thin off white head that left a patch of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of dark caramel malts and spicy rye are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of dark and caramel malts along with notes of spicy rye towards the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked the finish of the beer as the maltiness and spices seemed rather autumnal.
