On tap at Fifth Hammer, NYC.
Pours a clear and bright golden color. A huge and very creamy white foam retains all throughout.
Although not overtly hoppy in aroma or flavor, the nose does open with a touch of citrus and light herbal notes. Beyond that, the aroma is clean with mild notes of bready malt.
The taste is simple and rather uncomplicated throughout. Flavors are comprised mostly of clean bready malts that produce a light sweetness, and a gentle kiss of bright citrus hops flavors. A bit on the bland side flavorwise.
Light bodied and creamy. Because this was served on nitro, the carbonation was low. The finish is short and clean.
I confess I’m not the biggest cream ale fan, however, I suppose this was true to style. I’m a big fan of this brewery, however, this one did not really do it for me.
