On tap at Fifth Hammer, Queens, NY.
Pours a lightly hazy golden orange color. A moderate head retains for about a minute.
The aroma has notes of grapefruit and pine, evoking traditional IPA. However, it also has soft tropical aromas indicating perhaps notes of papaya and guava.
The taste opens with bright flavors of grapefruit rind, orange pith, grass, pine, and a wonderfully assertive resiny bitterness. A biscuity malt backbone, sturdy yet soft, almost creamy, provides a nice blanket for the hops. There is a touch of caramel, along with additional notes of guava, papaya and peach. Medium bodied with a moderately gentle carbonation. The mouthfeel is mostly smooth with some crispness, and a resiny, dry and bitter finish.
I loved this. I took this to go from the brewery in a plastic cup (sadly that’s all we can do these days) along with some 4 packs of other items. A delicious West Coast IPA, so crushable that I guzzled it down in one block on my walk to the subway!

Look: A hazy light amber with a fluffy white head.
Smell: Hard to define, pretty weak. Sort of like a hefeweizen. Yeasty and malty.
Taste: Pretty malty beer for a west coast IPA. The hops are present however.
Feel: A little less carbonation than I would like.
Overall: Still this is a good summer beer.

A new one from FH...."West Coast IPA"...16 ounces "Canned 6/26/20"
Pours lighter almond amber, with about a medium haze, and leaving fine lacing in a bunch of strands and webs.
Sniff reveals gritty, resiny, earthy hop notes.
Tasty and complex brew with both mild resiny hop notes and soft ripe fruit notes...with some light grapefruit coming to mind...delicious and nicely crafted, fine brew from one of Brooklyn's top breweries...well worth a try
