From the can, it pours a clear golden orange color. A moderate bubbly head soon dissipates.
The aroma of grapefruit is very strong and dominates the nose. It mostly overshadows the faint hints of cracker malts, clove like spices, tea leaves and earthy hops.
Juicy and pulpy flavors of grapefruit pulp steal the show. The malt base evokes hints of crisp dry cracker along with peppery and clove like spices. Gentle hops bitterness along with earthy and leafy flavors.
Light bodied and crisp. The carbonation is lively and the finish is pithy and dry.
The citrus additions were interesting and flavorful. However, for my taste, they overwhelmed the Kolsch base style.
