On cask at Fifth Hammer, Queens, NY.
Pours a cloudy, then turning clear golden amber color. Good nitro pour with a large sandstorm of a head settling inside the glass, and then billowing to the top. Foamy and large, it retains well and yields some nice looking lacing.
The nose is fruity and floral with malty notes of honey and biscuit. Aromas of chamomile tea, sweet grass, mint, toffee, orange marmalade and orchard fruit.
Bready and biscuity malt flavors provide a clean honey like sweetness, with just a touch of earthy hops bitterness. The yeast flavors take center stage with notes of fruity esters, apples, orange, woodsy, tea like, grassy and floral. The finish is clean and semi dry.
Light bodied and very easy drinking. Mouthfeel is smooth as silk. The carbonation is low as expected coming from the cask.
A very pleasant and easy drinking experience. Very smooth and sessionable. It has some English character, which is why I’ll add it as a Mild.
