Pours a crystal clear yellow with a big 3" fluffy head, excellent lacing and retention. Nose is light but assertive smoke (think Slim Jim liquid smoke), biscuit, bread dough. Taste is very light up front, though through things evolve nicely with a lingering note of smoked meat, grass, hop spice; bread dough and lemon through a dry finish. Mouthfeel is very soft with very light carbonation. Overall, a very subtle but enjoyable beer. Been very impressed with Fifth Hammer and this is no exception.

Served from the can in a Lagunitas mason jar.
Pours a clear amber-brass topped by a finger of dirty white foam. The nose comprises smoked malts (no ham here, kids, just a nice bit o' smoke itself), light cereal grains, and a touch of grass. The taste brings in more of the same, the smoke coming through clearer (at least insofar as smoke can be considered "clear"...) and rather cleanly. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda drying finish. A rather nice smoked helles, nothing flashy, just a tasty, clean bit o' smoke enveloping an inoffensive lager base. Good times.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly died down, leaving a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of smoked malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell but has stronger flavors of smoked malts.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This lager has a nice smoky smell and taste and is easy to drink.
