The appearance was a fairly dark bronzed orange to amber color with a quickly dissipating foamy head that slid off at a mild pace. Not much lace, somewhat speckled and sliding.
The aroma had some soft sweet nuts, light earthiness and some herbal hop qualities, very smooth.
The flavor was mostly sweet speckling the earthiness in with the herbal qualities. Aftertaste reminiscent of some herbal to baked earthy qualities rolling over some biscuits.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied, maybe just a touch under with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt on par. Semi-smooth herbal sort of finish.
Overall, odd Oktoberfest. A bit more herbal for the style or should I say "herbal" for aroma and taste that seemed a bit "off" for the style. Did I accept it? Yes, somewhat because I chalked it up to "brewer creativity."

This beer was a dark amber color with no head.
Sweet malt aroma, a little hint of herbal hops.
Nice caramel taste with a late herbal hop kick.
Middle of the road beer for me.
