Bottle of 2017 Cavallo purchased in 2018 at Stable Craft. Pours a near black with dark cream colored head. Smells strongly of raspberries, with light notes of chocolate and whiskey. Taste is raspberries up front and dominating at first before fading into the background to let rye whiskey come into play. Chocolate more towards the end of the beer. Medium body. Raspberry flavor lingers after the finish. Nice beer. Raspberry dominates with the whiskey being the second primary flavor. Not much in the chocolate, seems to be more into rounding out the whiskey and raspberry flavors.
