A very roasty stout, needs the milk sugar to balance that out for sure

A: Pours an opaque black color. No light get through at all. A dense tan head forms with good retention. Gobs of lace are left behind. This is a looker.
S: Big roasted malts up front. Coffee, chocolate, and bitter roast lingers. A touch of residual/lactose like sweetness. Simple but enjoyable.
T: Again the roast is up front and center. With coffee chocolate, a touch residual sweetness, and finishes with more bitter roast. This is really well integrated and an excellent example of a straight forward traditional Milk Stout that I wish more breweries around would do, instead of the over the top dessert stout it has morphed into lately.
M/O: A full body, which seems much bigger that it actually is. Good crisp carbonation, that is ultra smooth at the same time. Easy to drink, and a very well made Milk Stout.
Milk Stouts have never been among my favorite styles, but this is very well made. It has become a staple at the brewery for good reason. Enjoyable, and something I look for when wanting a bit more body without the big alcohol. Again, well done. It has become one of my favorite stouts in the Houston area lately, and on cask is special.
