A: Pours a slightly hazed golden/yellow color. At first a two finger white head forms, but recedes in a second to a small film. Not much lace is left behind, as is the case with most examples of the style.
S: Tart lemon rind light grains, but the tartness lingers and makes this very enjoyable.
T: Like the nose tart and slight "sour." The lemon rind sourness builds and is very enjoyable. With a touch of spice, a touch of savory, a touch of puckering, a touch of biscuit malts. Nothing is dominate, and an overall very well done Gose.
M/O: A light body that is very crisp and very effervescent. That gives way to a nice puckering tart and savory character that makes me want to keep coming back.
This is an excellent example of the style. To many breweries in the Houston area have turned this style into a gimmick, and I forgot how enjoyable a Gose can be. Fairly simple, but really enjoyable overall. Which is the MO for Holler. Highly recommended.
