A: Pours a nicely hazed golden/orange color. A dense two finger white head forms with excellent retention and lace left all the way down the glass.
S: Yep, tropical fruits...pineapple, mango, even honeydew melons. Earthy, dank, ridiculously vibrant. Then fades to floral, slightly grapefruit like bitterness, and woody aromas. Love the mix of tropical fruits with a long finish. Something new keeps coming out, without being overly busy. Really enjoyable in the nose.
T: Like the nose, this is really enjoyable. Up front has all the tropical, even "juicy" fruit flavors everyone is craving. Without being so one noted as that. With pineapple predominate up front, that becomes more honeydew melon like, then grapefruit bitterness, even grassy and floral flavors come out. A bit of woody flavors again. There is so much going on here, but all well defined and balanced, just really good.
M/O: A full body with perfectly effervescent carbonation. Superbly clean, and even with all the fruit flavors, finishes wonderfully dry. Really easy to drink. For as complex as this is, it never fells busy and with the great dryness is something I want to keep coming back to again and again.
An excellent Imperial IPA. Tons of flavor and character, which is rather complex. Though nothing is over done with a superb hop balance. From fruity/juice to earthy/dank, to a perfect amount of bitterness. One of the better examples of the style in Houston.
