This is their Anniversary NEIPA. I believe they used all New Zealand hops here.
A: Pours hazy, but not completely yeast slurry chunky/cloudy. A dark golden/orange color. A dense two finger white head forms with good retention and plenty of lace.
S: Grapefruit, almost Ruby Red like juice up front and center. Berry, passion fruit and even peppery like as well up front. Then the typical nondescript finish I get for the style, but up front is really enjoyable.
T: Like the nose, all up front and center. Intense grapefruit, and berry "juiciness", then for a quick moment black pepper. Again, I don't get much in the finish but it is not as muddled or astringent as other examples in the Houston area tend to be.
M/O: A medium body with soft, but certainly noticeable carbonation. I don't think I will ever like the finish for this style, but I can at least tolerate this. As such, I have been able to come back to this a couple of times and find it fairly enjoyable.
This has certainly been my favorite of the NEIPA's in the Houston area. This is not a complete muddled and astringent mess that so many of the others are. While I don't think this will ever be a go to for me, If you consider yourself a fan of the style, I think this is a must try.
