A: Pours a clear, but dark copper brown color. A dense two finger white head forms with good retention. Light lace is left behind.
S: Sweet caramel malts and toffee up front. Light cereal grains and maybe some toasted bread. Fairly simple, and can tell this is going to be sweet.
T: Yep, I get a lot of sweetness up front. Caramel and toffee, which boarders on cloying for me. Light toasted and bready malts. Though the sweetness is the show here.
M/O: A medium body with crisp carbonation. Pretty clean, but sticky and sweet in the finish. Not hard to drink, something I have come back to with easy. It just doesn't hit that perfect dark lager spot for me.
Like usual from Holler, this is something I enjoy drinking. Though I think the sweetness is too much. I would personally like more bread, grains, and a dryer finish. Not bad at all, and am glad to see a brewery in Houston try more traditional German Lagers.
