A delightful English pale ale, featuring a delicate balance of fine English malt and East Kent Golding hops. You'll like the first pint, and you'll be in love after the third.

Serving: Cask pour into a nonic pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: Warm golden bronze with slight haze and two fingers of lush white head upon pouring. Leaves terrific lacing.
Smell: Orange zest, toffee, multigrain bread, earthy and floral hops.
Taste: More toffee malt body, orange citrus, black tea and earthiness. Crisp and clean bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with creamy smooth feel and soft, cask carbonation.
Overall: A nice English pale ale showing plenty of subtle complexity and balance between malt and hops. A treat to find on cask.

My favorite of the five beers I have had from this brewery. Had it at the brewery from tap into a tall half pint.
Beautiful beer. Golden brown color with a rich creamy head and great lacing. Nice malty toffee smell and taste with a hint of licorice and a wonderful bitter finish. Great beer!

-------------Update------------
New owner, new brewer. After several tries with the new owners, this is not the same as it use to be.
Pours just a bit darker orange. Much more malt, and basically dark fruits and sweetness. Barely any bright hoppy character anymore. A lighter body, and much sweeter finishing. This is more of a blander version of the ESB now.

A new English Style Best Bitter from Holler. They always do English styles well.
A: Pours with a nice chilled hazed like orange color. A two finger white head forms with good retention and plenty of lace left behind.
S: East Kent Goldings hops all the way up front. Orange rind and peppery spice, and lightly floral. An earthy, wood like aroma. Grains and bread like malts all intermingle for balance. Yep, I like this a lot.
T: Like the nose, orange rind, citrus, floral hops. Peppery, earthy wood like flavors that are a bit stronger than the nose. More malt flavors come out here as well. Baked bread and grains are very nice. Along with an assertive but not over done bitterness in the finish.
M/O: A light to medium body. Very crisp/effervescent. Supper clean and dry. Really easy to drink. Something that becomes more enjoyable with each pint, and spot on for an English Bitter made in the States.
Like always, Holler has made a true to style English offering. This time around a Bitter. I'll be coming back to this a lot when I see it, and it will be on cask shortly. Which means long sessions at the brewery when that happens. Well made, like usual.
