A: Pours a clear pale yellow color. A white head rises to a few fingers, with good retention. Plenty of lace left behind.
S: Up front is tree sap with pine resin. Some grapefruit, some bread like malts in the background. Though this is classic west coast IPA all the way.
T: Like the nose, big on the pine resin/tree sap flavors. More noticeable malts than the nose, with some caramel and even a light honey sweetness. Though a strong bitterness lingers. A good west coast style IPA.
M/O: A medium to full body. Well carbonation. Though is resin like and a little oily which make this a bit heavy handed for me.. There is certainly a noticeable sweetness, but finishes dry. A good IPA, I enjoyed my pint. Would probably get again, but the ABV is a little to high for a regular purchase for me. Which probably contributes to this being a bit heavy handed. Still, enjoyable for what it is.
Not bad at all, but would like this to be lower in alcohol and less "heavy." If in the mood for that classic IPA, this is it. Though I think they do better IPA's at this brewery in particular, and will be drawn to those more often. Let alone the many other great to style offerings that is always on hand here.
