A: Pours a clear golden/yellow color. A two finger white head forms with good retention and some lace left behind.
S: Peppery spice and phenol like yeast up front. Some grassy hops and grainy character in the finish.
T: Follows the nose with peppery spice and phenols. That are almost plastic like. Cereal grains, and lingering grassy bitterness.
M/O: A light to medium body. Crisp carbonation that is clean and smooth at the same time. Just a bit watery though. Very easy to drink, but considering the alcohol, I was expecting a little more umph. The alcohol is the same as the summer Saison, but not nearly the same amount of character.
I get what they wanted to do, make a lighter Belgian pale ale offering. Which is what this is. though with the same alcohol content as their new Saison. If this was in the 4% range, then I might boost the score a bit. As is, Steal My Sunshine Saison is much superior. This is not bad at all but doesn't hold up to their other excellent Belgian style offerings.
