A: Pours a dark reddish/brown color. A white head forms with good retention and lace left behind.
S: Citrus and grapefruit hops up front. The malts round everything out. Toasted with a touch of caramel/toffee aromas. There is a bigger hop aroma up front than I was expecting, which is not a bad thing at all.
T: Again, big hops up front. Citrus, grapefruit, kind of a generic "passion fruit" flavor. Pine, and resin as well. Then the malts come in to the picture. Toasted malts, caramel, and biscuit flavors and a little bit of sweetness that doesn't become cloying. Lingering bitterness. Kind of all over the place, which is intended but also why I'm not the biggest fan of the style.
M/O: A full body that is well carbonated. Becomes a bit resinous, sticky, and chewy. This is interesting and enjoyable to drink. Not sure if this is an everyday beer but still good.
Hoppy, malty, and an almost sticky/chewy body. A nice take on an Imperial Red. Though a little too much of everything, which is usually my issue with the style. Not that that is bad in anyway, just seems too busy for me. It is made well, and I'll come back to this on occasion but won't be a regular purchase for me.
