A: Pours a nearly opaque black color. A dense tan head rises with excellent retention and lace left behind. This is a looker.
S: Full on roasted malt in the nose. Coffee, bitter bakers chocolate, toffee. Baked dark bread, really enjoyable.
T: Like the nose, all the roasted malt flavors. Coffee, bakers chocolate, toffee, baked bread. The bakers chocolate finishes with a dry bitterness.
M/O: A full body. The carbonation is crisp but ultra smooth at the same time. Beautifully dry as should be expected. This is a really good one, that I had no trouble drinking and will come back plenty.
That malt character is so wonderfully dry, nuanced, and balanced. Easily one of the better American examples of the style I have had. Well done all around.
