Quite handsome dark brown brew with abundant fine-grained beige foam in the Hopleaf goblet. Pleasant sudsy mouthfeel. Not much aroma, sort of grainy and earthy. This doesn't taste as much like roasted malt as you might like. Grainy with the odd flavor that must be the legendary potatoes. There is a slight acidic note in the finish that doesn't help any.

Quite quaffable, but I'd have to say this is a little lacking. Plenty flavorful for the lower ABV. I wonder what burnt potatoes taste like? Needs a dose of the black malt so familiar from the Irish stle stouts. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station.

16oz can (no date) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a solid black color with over an inch of light brown head that had good retention and light lacing.

The aroma had solid malts, light roast, and a touch of sweetness. No real hop presence.

Similar on the tongue, with the addition of a slight sharp flavor that I couldn't quite put my finger on.

The body was medium, maybe leaning towards full, was smooth, and had a finish that started sweet but dried out nicely.

Drinkability was very good, I could see knocking back a couple pints.

Overall, a nice, easy drinking brew. worth a shot if you see it.
