16oz tallboy can courtesy of BBThunderbolt. Apparently brewed to aid a local flood relief charity in Whatcom county. No freshness date.
Poured into my Hidden Mother (RIP) snifter, this was a very dark brown, verging on black. When held up to light, there's a dark red glow. Big, creamy looking khaki colored head. Modest, spotty lace.
Big raspberry nose to this. I hadn't realized it was a fruited stout until I poured it. The raspberries absolutely dominate the nose to the exclusion of all else
Taste is a little more balanced than the nose, although it's still the raspberry show. Behind the big sweet-tart raspberry blast, there's a dark malty roastiness, but it's well in the background.
Fairly thin body, and a somewhat watery mouth feel.
This beer lives and dies by how much the individual drinker happens to like raspberries. I happen to love them, so, flawed as I find this beer, I'm happy to be drinking it. Having said that, if you're indifferent to the berries, and are drinking it because you wanted a stout, you could well be quite disappointed. And if you positively dislike raspberries, it'd be best to steer well clear of this one.

16oz can (no date) poured into 14oz teku. Poured the expected solid black color with 1/4 inch of tan head that had low retention and no lacing.
The aroma had a huge blast of raspberries at t he front of the nose. Behind that were solid malts, and a nice, earthy grain scent.
Similar on the tongue, with a light bit of roast showing through.
The body was a bit light for the style, smooth, and had a medium finish.
Drinkability was very good, I could easily see knocking back a few of these.
Overall, a very nice brew for a very worthy cause. Grab one if you see it.
