Birra del Bosco / Birrificio Rethia "Rockets To Russia"
33 cl brown glass bottle, "Best before: 12 - 19 L174444" and sampled on 25 June 2018
6,50€ @ Beershop Venezia, Venezia, IT
Look: Typical Imperial Russian stout with a dark brown/black body (40 SRM) and tan head. Very good head retention and lacing.
Smell: Dark chocolate, soft roastiness, some dark caramel, subtle coffee.
Taste: The flavor follows the aroma. It's a mild Russian Imperial that's very smooth, without any harsh edges - no dark malt acidity and only 36 IBUs). Malty, and easy to drink, it still finishes dry.
Feel: Medium bodied with a smooth, fine bubbled median carbonation.
Overall: A very nice example of the style that doesn't go overboard. Easy to drink, yet completely satisfying.
