just not a great stout, too much carb, little to no maple flavor, not my cup of tea, had this next to impermanence which i also don't like very much and it blew siberian kiss out of water, which isn't saying much, need to work on thickening their stouts up

First time having anything from these guys and it did not disappoint. Starting from the pour, this thing looks nearly pitch black with just a faintest hint of brown-mocha. The head was a super dark mocha, with almost reddish hues, and it dissipated quickly. Smell is amazing. The obvious smell here is coffee, and lots of it. From there it’s dark chocolate, maple, and even some cinnamon. Almost sort of like French toast with syrup. The taste follows with these characteristics along with vanilla. Almost akin to a vanilla macchiato from Starbucks. The coffee is strong but not bitter. It’s a great balance of flavor and of course there is some maple! Even getting some roasted nuts, maybe like roasted hazelnuts. Feel is a little thin for what I expected from an 11% stout, but it’s super smooth and no detectable booze. I only have Impermanence and MoC from TH to compare this to, and this blows them away.
