Hey I'm always down for a baseball themed beer. Such a great pair, beer and baseball once beat the '87 Road Warriors, clean. Anyhoo, what a great looking beer when poured into a 1959 Marquette jersey pint glass. Clear golden color, the greatest of clarity, solid 3/4" white head.
An old school aroma but without the crystal malt heft, they went Vienna and I approve. Centennial providing the woody citrus here, diverse enough to think it could have had Amarillo too, but no, this is a smash beer.
Vienna malt still hits those golden waves of grain vibes, giving this a nice crisp body that works well mouthfeel wise. Old school grapefruit and pine descriptors abound from the Centennial hops. The light woodiness works in the beechwood aged realm, just a light influence that doesn't bog down the mouthfeel. I wouldn't complain if there were more real pale ales like this instead of hopped up ipas sitting in a lighter body to qualify, you know, how it be, Ruby don't take your love to town kind of vibe.

Pours a golden amber with a finger of loose slightly off white head that makes an early exit from the party. Aroma is very reserved. Possibly this is just what a single hop of Cascade smells like, but it's definitely muted. When you get up really close, there are some nice tropical notes, they just take some work to detect.
Things start to come together better on the tongue. This has a really nice old school vibe about it. It's not juicy, it's not in your face, it's just a really tasty pale ale. The hops are in the leading role, with moderately resinous pine notes that are solidly there, but not overwhelming. Medium bodied with somewhat less carbonation than I would have expected.
Overall, a very enjoyable, drinkable beer.
