16oz can. Bottom stamp reads 'BETTER CASTLE 8/17/23'.
Clear, brown colored body. One finger of khaki colored head, which quickly disappears. No lacing.
Aroma of dark toasted malts, a little caramel, a little black licorice, and a tiny bit of char.
Taste is kind of sweet, but has dark toasted malts, which lead to toffee. Dark bread, with a nutty addition. Has a bit of burnt sugar. Aftertaste fades quickly.
Thinner mouth feel. Leads to some tongue numbness. Lacking in carbonation.
Balance of sweet to char, caramel to toffee. Pretty body color and clarity.

Pours a copper brown with a finger of foamy head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring with some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, brown bread, and toffee. Taste follows nose.

Handsome clear auburn brown brew with abundant foam in the Duvel nonic. Grainy aroma with a snort of butterscotch. Malty body with mouth-filling carbonation. Tastes of caramel with a bit of scorched sugar. Cheerios with brown sugar, maybe. Fairly sweet (and fizzy, of course) for the English style, which makes it go down easy, and perhaps that's what you want. From the 16 oz can purchased at O'Shea's. Dated 11/23/2022.

i’m torn about the feel because on one hand it’s par for the course as far as a brown ale and especially an english style at that, while on the other hand it is kinda weak. not sure. other than that, really great.

On tap at Detention in Santa Ana, CA.
Fine, but not Carmen election “fine” when Raul was in the 5th grade.
And then I dive in a little more… And unlike Phelps, I’m not stoned. Clear and ready Raul is: and what I say, is that it’s too sweet. Not sugar pop gum drop “sweet,” but more like my elementary school librarian who seemed to never have a bad day. Like, you rent Goose Bumps books all day, how can you always be this happy?
Anyway, it’s all about experiences - and experience this beer Raul did. But like a bunk first date, I won’t experience it again.

Brown body with copper tones and a tan head. Smell has roasted nuts, brown bread, and decently potent earthy hops. Taste is much the same, bread is more toasty. Feel is medium to light, maltwork is very well done, roast appropriate, hops fits the elements of the style well. Good all around, enjoy in fall

looked super cool on the pour and then it thinned out immediately and doesnt look promising. browns and nut browns were my gateway but i found really found any in the great beer explosion over the last several years? smells nice, but thin; how can we pack more into a thicker, more viscous brown? first gulp of the day and it is relatively quenching, yet still thin. the flavor i was hoping for is sparse and thin also. not bad at all, but not the brown i've been seeking and hoping for... but it HAS got me Youtubing "Afternoon Delight" !! and i will say it doesnt have the funky chemical flavors i've seen....
