Sampling a 12 oz can at cellar temp and pouring into my snifter. The beer pours a rich dark cola brown color and no light passing through the glass. Very minimal beige head foams and is the thinnest of edge layers soon after the pour.
The aroma is rich chocolate fudge, cinnamon notes, some vanilla and sweet bourbon. Not really boozy at all and no hop character to be noted here. Nice nose.
First sip reveals a medium to thick body but fairly smooth texture and gentle carbonation. Pretty easy to drink for the physical traits.
Flavor is fudge chocolate, some vanilla, sweeter bourbon notes, some charred wood , but this char is mild and in the background. Never any hop character and the booze is dangerously well hidden too.
this is a tasty imperial stout and I am enjoying the flavor mix and physical texture of this beer. glad to have tried this one and I am enjoying it.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours jet black with no head. Nose is vanilla, chocolate, marshmallow, toffee, ginger snap cookies, and maple syrup. Absolutely stunning nose.

The taste is absolutely incredible. Super intense, rich toffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar, a bit of black licorice, ginger, bourbon, coconut, and a nice layer of dark fruit. Just amazing.

Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. The booze is definitely detectable, but doesn't burn. Overall, one of the best BA stouts that I had in a while.

subliminal anti-sauronic backward-masking messaging disguised as 'wood' around the 'star'.... obviously anti-trump demonic satanic gibberish and pro-sauron... AND there was a STAR in the miniscule foaminess AFTER the head settled in my pour.... what else would you expect from such a BLAND "vanilla-addition" to such a simple bourbon-barrel-aged stout in this day and age of blueberries and habaneros and Windex etc....? this is actually pretty damned good! basic. simple. delicious. potent. wood (we'll have to see what comes out of the satanic crypto-speak, of course). AND in a 12 oz can which we ALL secretly desire in that 'last beer of the evening' thing but do not want 16oz of..... am i right? F'ing MASTERPIECE! Love the wood! Love the basic-ness and ULTRA F drinkability of a FOURTEEN PERCENT STOUT!!! LOVE Chapman Crafted.... just grop that lactose crap in the IPAs.... and everything else, please... yuk. and diarrhea. i think i'm gonna go run some Zep albums backward right now.... Very Well Done!
