Poors a deep cherry red color, with a golden/orange hue. Decent foam and lacing. The nose is very on the dark fruits side, with some candied raisins, figs, dates and some dark chocolat with hand harvested sea-salt. Some dark caramel too. The taste is quite sweet but not too much for the style. There are notes of dark chocolat, raisins, roasted almonds, figs, some dark cherries and barley sugar. THe alcohol warmth is present without being too overwhelming. The feeling is very round and carbonation not too high. A good winter warmer!

Bottle: Poured a clear copper color ale with a nice brown foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of bourbon and vanilla with some woody notes and some caramelized malt is also noticeable. Taste is a great mix of woody notes with some vanilla and bourbon notes and some caramelized malt notes with light toffee and balanced residual sugar notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Excellent barleywine form a brewery that does not make a lot of noise but do propose some good product.
