Pours a light chestnut brown with a lovely cap and collar. The retention is okay, and there is little lacing.
Smell is a little odd, light Brett and then some elements of the Dubbel...dark fruits mostly. These just seem odd together.
Taste and feel are a real disappointment. There is a nice pop of light brett as you start the beer, then a quick flourish of some dark fruits, but then these fade quickly into a watery and flavorless sip. If you aerate the beer in your mouth, you might get a bit more flavor and feel, but that is a lot of work to get flavor.
This beer disappoints on many levels. First I am not sure that Brett and a Dubbel are the best match. Secondly, the disappearance of flavor so quickly is a real letdown. Finally, there is a clear lack of French Oak, which is promised on the label.
