West Coast American Pale Ales and IPAs have inspired Doc Perdue’s Bobcat. Hops are loaded from top to bottom in this ruby red beer showing off aromatic pine, zest, fresh citrus and tropical fruit. The body is smooth and gently bitter, while the hop aromas are bright and vibrant.

it reminds me of boneshaker. .leans more towards the flavor profile of IPA not a red ale..i dont think this beer knows what it is,,maybe its going through a identity crisis . if the beer was less tart id give it a better rating.

Can: Poured an amber color lager with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt notes with some citrus and resinous hops notes. Taste is a mix of sweet caramelized hops notes with some light citrus/resinous hops notes. Body is light with good carbonation. Standard hoppy amber ale. Refreshing but nothing to write home about.

Maybe it’s the the setting in which this is being consumed. The vinyard and the sun and the smell of woodburning oven. But I really love this. Nice flavour and slight bitter taste. 10/10. As ales go I love it.

Pours an essentially clear reddish copper colour with scant off white bubbly head.
I do like the aromatics - piney, grapefruit, citrus hops - slightly green with a backing of caramel malt.
Taste starts with a caramel malty sweetness that gives way to a back of palate piney note, grapefruit and an earthy hop bite with a verdant bitterness that perhaps lacks a little subtlety.
Medium mouthfeel with active carbonation and a lingering weedy/leafy bittersweetness.

Doc Purdue’s Bobcat West Coast Red Ale from Cowbell Brewing Company in the little village of Blyth, Ontario. 5.5% alc. 30 IBUs.
Beer pours a nice off white bubbly head. Colour of the beer is orange copper.
Smell is nice mix of hop and roasted malt. The hop note is slightly more dominant.
Taste mild maltiness with a hint of hop bitterness. Beer has a nice soft mouthfeel and a smooth-like finish. Overall the beer is medium bodied.

473ml can poured a clear mahogany into a standard pint glass with one and a half fingers of tan head that lingers nicely and laces well. Smells of citrus, pine, and fruity gum. Tastes unsurprisingly like a mash-up between a red ale and a west-coast IPA. I wondered how that would work, and it turns out that it's pretty good. The malt starts things off, then gives in to the grapefruity citrus, and finishes with the lingering but mild hoppy bitterness. I like it, but alongside the hops, the finish feels a little gritty somehow...harsh on the back edges of my tongue. I like the medium-high carbonation, which keeps the flavours lively. Good beer.

Copper red with a light haze, moderate carbonation and 2 fingers of beige head.
Smells super hoppy of pine, citrus, caramel, and creme brulee.
Taste follows the nose with big pine and citrus, followed by solid caramel and toasted malt notes.
Medium body, and a moderate carbonation.
Got at LCBO, drinking in Muskoka Feb 11th, 2018. Really enjoying this underrated amber ale.

473 can from lcbo. Very good Red ale with a hoppy (but not overly) twist. Pours dark copper, nice, big beige head, good glass lacing. Hoppy nose. Very nice tasting, flavors of bread, hints if citrus, well balanced beer. Love this stuff.
