Dark brown pour with almost no head, just a tan ring. Aroma is hop-foward despite description, with roasted malt taking a back seat. Not a fan of hoppy brown ales typically, so that's disappointing. Flavor is more balanced than the nose implied thankfully, with nice caramel sweet coming through though the hops still rule the show. Heavily roasted malt in addition to hop makes for a mostly bitter brown. Finish is fairly clean, though dry and slightly bitter.
