On tap at Flyway Brewing's Brood & Barley Gastropub.
A: Pours a dark brown, nearly black color. A small white head forms and recedes after a minute. Light lace is left behind.
S: Roasted malts, with light coffee, chocolate and some dark fruits. A simple aroma but enjoyable.
T: Again, this is simple, enjoyable and fits the style. Roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. A bit acrid, and a bit of a lingering roasted bitterness.
M/O: A medium body with moderate carbonation. This seems a bit lighter that I would expect. This could have a bit more body. Not hard to drink at all. I can come back to this, even if its not one of the better Porter examples I have had.
I have never really understood what the difference is between a Robust Porter and a regular Porter, let alone a regular stout (lets not go there). Though. this seems a bit light for something called "robust." Its got the roasted character you would want though. Just missing a little something for me, but certainly not bad.
