They weren't joking about this being a middle of the roads for those who don't like a dark beer, I thoroughly enjoy this but it's as light as can be.

Drank at a tailgate, remember those? 16oz can, I think I got it at Berkeley Bowl?
Pours dark brown, thin beige head 1/4" deep. Aroma was more bourbon than bourbon soaked wood, could be the relative 'weakness' of the body beer compared to the mega huge imperial stouts. Some light cocoa powder like influence alongside a porter level amount of roasted malt.
Brings a sweeter than expected taste sensation, similar to the barely noticeable difference in sweetness from a rye barrel and a bourbon barrel, came off that way. Wood comes out more now. Light bitterness alongside the sweetness in relative harmony. Carbonation is slightly lower giving way to a stickier mouth feel. Wouldn't say its so low its a flaw, its just lower than most but not 'flat' by any means.
Mouthfeel was lightly sticky, carbonation was light. I think its a cool beer when you want some barrel but not that double digit abv.

Pours clear, dark brown in color with one quarter inch head. Taste is deep roasted malts, vanilla, and cocoa. Medium-heavy bodied, sweet, and roasty, moderate carbonation. I like the small lactose taste with this one. It adds a pleasant edge to the aftertaste. I prefer this slightly to the non-alcoholic version but both are good. This one has more body and is sweeter than the non-alcoholic version.

Pours a dark brown opaque with a small head.

Picked this one up from an online retailer - I sat on it for about six months before realizing that it was gathering dust in a corner. Whoops. Maybe it has built character in that time?
Dark Sarcasm is surprisingly rich, particularly for a non-barrel aged porter. It's comprised of a tremendous medley of adjuncts - most of my favorites in fact, in light coffee, deep, warm chocolate, and a slight bit of vanilla. Delicious. It's also not overwhelmingly carbed, which is a tremendous plus in my book. It does have a light half-finger of hazel-colored head, which is reassuring. I've had a couple bottles from this online retailer that were flat, sour, or remarkably infected. Glad this was not one of them!
As reasonably priced as this bottle was, I can't recommend it enough. I'd love to see this in 12 oz cans or bottles.

Taster at 2 Tread taproom. Black/ brown pour with small beige head. Light roasty aroma leads into a much fuller taste, hints of chocolate. Smooth with a nice bite at the finish.
