Decanted from a 16 ox (473 ml) can into a conical pint glass; canned 06/28/2018.
A: Pours a very dark brown color with a tan head that dissipates quickly leaving a rim. Spotty lacing.
S: Aromas chocolate and molasses initially, moving more to sarsaparilla and cola as it warms. A red vinous note throughout.
T: Lightly sweet to semidry. Flavor pallet more coffee, cherry, molasses, and vanilla. Dark chocolate and sarsaparilla notes evident later. Bitterness a very good counterpoise to the sweetness, leaving only a touch.
M: Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation. Slick and generally smooth on the palate.
O: Very solid, very roasty porter. I like to farm to final gravity angle.

Pours pitch black and completely opaque. Thick pillowy mocha colored head dissipates steadily leaving a pillowy mountain of foam on top of the beer. Some soapy lacing is left on the glass.
Aroma has dark toasted malts, chocolate and a faint tart cherry aroma that makes it smell like chocolate covered cherries. Hints of vanilla and cream come through as well.
Taste has notes of toasted malts, cocoa, chocolate, cream, yet not very sweet - slight bitterness on the finish. Bit of an ashy cocoa flavor comes through as the beer warms.
Feel is much much lighter than I initially expected, but not outside the realm of acceptability for the style. Mild carbonation. Pretty smooth and very easy drinking.
Overall a solid porter. Easy drinking and well executed.

Pours a dark chestnut brown (if held up to light), with slight, light tan head , and a little bit of persistent lacing.
Aroma is typical porter : roasty malt, with hints of unsweetened chocolate and black coffee.
Flavor follows nose, with a pleasant light bitterness and dry finish. Lightly creamy feel, with very fine carbonation tickling the tip of the tongue on the finish.
Overall very well-balanced, and thoroughly enjoyable. Could become a classic, if they stick with it. I can see getting this on a regular basis.
